Poolside Patio, Raised Bed & Decorative Fencing Installation in Canterbury
At Drakes Tidy Gardens, we were asked to help transform a poolside area in Canterbury by creating a safer, more attractive outdoor space that would complement the surrounding garden and woodland backdrop.
The project combined patio installation, timber fencing, raised planting beds and decorative landscaping, helping to turn an underused area into a practical and visually appealing feature.
The Challenge
The customer wanted to improve the appearance of the space around their swimming pool while also creating a clearer boundary between the patio and the surrounding garden.
The area needed:
- A clean and durable patio surface around the pool
- Safe boundary fencing without obstructing views
- Attractive planting areas to soften the hard landscaping
- A finish that would blend naturally with the woodland setting
Our Landscaping Solution
We installed a large, modern patio using light-coloured paving slabs that provide a clean and contemporary finish around the pool area.
To define the edge of the patio, we installed a timber picket fence with matching posts, creating a subtle boundary while maintaining views across the garden and surrounding trees.
Alongside the fencing, we constructed a raised timber planting bed, filled with decorative gravel and new planting. This added texture, colour and interest to the space while helping to break up the large paved area.
The finished design combines hard landscaping with softer planting elements, creating a more balanced and welcoming outdoor environment.
